Heather Wagner

October 28th, 2008 by leah

One of the first logos that I ever created was for Heather Wagner, a photographer in Canada.  Below was what I had created.

It’s been almost two years since this logo was created.  Heather contacted me about a new logo.  I decided to come out of retirement and give it a shot.  Below is what we came up with.

I’m really very pleased with how it turned out, especially the cards!  It was really fantastic working with Heather.  You should check out her photography, she is amazing!

Scrap Eloquent

May 10th, 2007 by leah

As a once web designer, now digital scrapbooking designer and logo designer I’ve noticed a trend to hate certain fonts.  When I was 16 and just starting to dip my toes in webdesign for my personal websites  (usually geared toward anime like Sailor Moon) people would never use Times New Roman as a font choice.  It was just wasn’t “cool” enough.  Some of the popular choices were helvetica, tahoma, and my personal favorite Century Gothic.  (oh, another big hated one is comic sans)  Well, the script font used on my latest logo is one of the fonts that was like the song from titanic; It was used so often that it eventually quickly fell out of popularity.  When I was making my latest logo for Donna Mook for Scrqp Eloquent Designs I decided to give this font another try.

I’m in love with this logo!  (Man, it’s good to love what you do!)

I have a few more logos that I’m currently working on over the next few weeks.  I’ve been having a blast!  So, keep an eye on the site, new logos are coming soon!

Two New Logos!

May 1st, 2007 by leah

I’m excited that I can finally post these two new logos.  Both are for digital scrapbooking stores.  First, is The-Lilypad.com.  A while back when I thought I could tackle web development I had started bouncing ideas off of the-lilypad for logos.  Eventually I realized that website development was not my cup of tea.  I was contacted again by the owners of the Lily-pad.  They still liked the logo, and wanted a few revisions to get it ready for their new store launch!  (very exciting! cause the lilypad girls ROCK)  And here is what I came up with.

I love the spunky feel of this logo.  And if you can’t tell from my own logo I’m a huge circle/dot lover.  I’m really excited they’ll be using it in their new store!

My next logo was a comission from TheDigiShoppe.com.  They were going for a more “artsy” feel.  For this I had to inlist the help of my good friend Genevieve Sass who is the MASTER of flourishes.  I’m really pleased with the way this logo turned out.  It was my first “collab” effort on a logo.

Oh, I have a little ad up in the DST Newsletter for the month of May!  So, if you got here through that medium *waves*

Scrapbook Designers!

April 5th, 2007 by leah

I’ve been so excited lately when scrapbook designers ask for help with their logos!  My client base seems to be photographers and digital scrapbook designers!  I’m loving this niche! It’s always a blast to work with someone who is creative and has a clear image of what they want in a logo!  It makes the process go more smoothly.  Though I must admit, I do love a challenge.  :)  My latest logo is for a digital scrapbook designer named Beth Hesselberg.  She has some amazing paper talent that I can’t even touch!  I made a few different logos for her, one that was more elegant/grunge and one more classic clean and then our winner, this modern funky fun one!  I LOVE MODERN! (can’t tell you how much really) so I was excited when she chose the logo that was my favorite too!

Isn’t it fun?  The neat thing is with psd files she can change the colors on the logo to match each kit she makes!  If you aren’t a photoshop user the same thing is possible with Paint Shop Pro, just have to change the file format. :)

First Post!

April 5th, 2007 by leah

I decided to finally get a move on with my new venture in logo making.  I had been going by “Logos by Leah” but it just wasn’t sticking for me.  I did want to go with “Logo Mojo” but apparently that is a HUGE logo company and I don’t want to get in trouble… so I have been refered to as the “logo chick” so I thought, ok, that will work… LOGO CHICK!  I didn’t have a second thought and bought the domain and made the logo and I’m in business!

I like the new logo! It’s fun and spunky!  And lots of bright color but not so much that it’s overbearing!  So, keep your eyes open.  I am going to post here about different fonts, post my finished logos that I make for my clients, and other ramblings!  So, YAY for the launch of LogoChick.com!
